Day 1

Upon arrival, you are met, assisted and transferred to Tiberias. Drive along the shores of the Mediterranean to the Roman port of Caesarea, one of the most beautiful cities of the ancient world. See the huge theatre and aqueduct which brought fresh water from the Carmel Mountains. St. Paul was imprisoned here before he sailed to Rome for his trial and execution. To Tiberias.

Day 2

Board a boat to travel on the Sea of Galilee to Kibbutz Nof Ginosar to view the remains of a recently excavated fishing vessel dating from the time of Christ. Then travel to Capernaum, a lake-side village frequently referred to in the New Testament as home of St. Peter and a site of Jesus Christ's preaching. Continue to Tabgha, site of the Miracle of the Multiplication of Loaves and Fishes. Visit both the Church of the Primacy which contains a large rock (Mensa Christi) upon which Jesus shared meals with His disciples. Ascend to the Mount of Beatitudes, the location of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. Mass will be celebrated in the lovely Chapel which overlooks both the Galilean hillside and the Sea of Galilee. Continue north to the Crusader fortress ofAcre (Akko). Visit the excavated remains of the Knights' Templar complex. Drive eastward through the lush, verdant Galilee. Then descend below sea level to the shores of the Sea of Galilee to reach Tiberias, a therapeutic spa dating from Roman times. Check into your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

On to Nazareth, boyhood home of Jesus. Visit the Basilica of the Annunciation, where Mass will be celebrated in the Grotto, the Synagogue Church, the Church of St. Joseph and Mary's Well, where the Archangel Gabriel announced the Incarnation. Continue to Cana, where Jesus performed His first miracle at the wedding celebration and where you, too, may renew your own vows. Onto Yardenit, the beautiful Baptismal site where the Jordan flows from the lake. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias

Day 4

Travel to Mount Tabor, the Mount of Transfiguration. Mass will be celebrated at the beautiful Cathedral. Drive into the Jordan (Rift) Valley to view Bet She'an, a vitally important military and trade center. See the Roman theatre, the exquisite mosaic tile floors and the ongoing excavations of this Decapolis city named Scythopolis by the ancient Greeks. Continue to Jericho, the oldest known inhabited city of the Western World. View Qarantal, the monastery which marks the Mount of Temptation where Jesus fasted 40 days before His last ascent to Jerusalem. Begin this ascent yourself via the Old Jericho Road which affords breathtaking views of Wadi Qelt and the Monastery of St. George. Transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 5

Travel to Bethlehem, birthplace of King David and Jesus Christ, where Mass will be said in the Church of St. Catherine. Visit the Manger, Crusaders' Cloister and the Grotto of St. Jerome. View the caves in Shepherds' Field and the fields of Boaz. Continue to Ein Karem, birthplace of St. John the Baptist, to visit the Church of the Visitation. Drive to the Model City which explains "the look" of Jerusalem during the time of Christ. Visit the Israel Museum to see the Shrine of the Book which houses the original manuscripts of the Dead Sea Scrolls, and the Monastery of the Cross, where tradition holds the wood for the Crucifix was hewn. End your day atop Mount Zion; visit the Upper Room, the Tomb of King David, the Pool of Siloam and Caiaphas' House. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.                                                                                           

Day 6

Descend through the Judean Wilderness to the shores of the Dead Sea, the lowest spot on Earth. En route, visit the Inn of the Good Samaritan. Travel along the water's edge to Massada, King Herod the Great's fortress/palace built in the midst of the desert. Ascend by cable car to view the exquisitely restored archaeological remains. Continue to Kibbutz Ein Gedi to sample the unique buoyancy of the highly therapeutic Dead Sea waters. View Qumran, the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem

Day 7

Enter the Old City through St. Stephen's Gate. Visit the Crusader Church of St. Anne, the Pool of Bethesda (where Jesus healed the lame man), Pilate's Judgment Hall and the Chapel of Flagellation (Lithostrotos). View the Arch of Ecce Homo and visit the Convent of the Sisters of Zion. Begin the stations of the Cross as you follow the Via Dolorosa to the Holy Sepulchre where Mass will be celebrated in the Roman Catholic .


Our last day of the tour. Breakfast at the hotel and coach transfer to airport for your return flight to London.
